Claudia Marr works with relics and biographies of people who have had to leave their homes for good. From what is left behind – usually untouched and abandoned for disposal – she develops atmospherically condensed objects and installations. Her works draw intimate human portraits and invite us to immerse ourselves in the universe of an otherwise strange person. A carpet from an abandoned flat forms the starting point of her current installation, which she stages in the project space in an expansive manner as a symbol of the fragility and transience of human existence.

Genua Scharmberg‘s series of works “Friends & Neighbours” plays with the format of the cinema poster: “Mandy”, “Couples”, “Swap Your Money”, “Coral Ship” and “The Garage”, all of which are united by the subtitle “A woman goes her way …”. But the protagonist is not depicted and the texts consist of only one repeating character. The motifs evoke a feeling of lonely vastness. The series is open in every direction, has no fixed sequence, no specific edition, no defined sizes, no claim to uniqueness. They are multiples of poetic moments that lure us into new spaces of thought through deliberate image cropping.
