Josephsburgstraße

In her fellowship project on the theme of “LichtEinFall,” the artist recreated the living room of an abandoned apartment in Munich’s Josephsburgstraße using paper walls. Through the ambient light, handwritten texts from letters and diaries of the former inhabitant become visible as watermarks.

As if her thoughts, views, intentions, her presence were written down by the text. Often the words surface, as it were, like salt from a supersaturated solution. In the installation it is present in various ways, appearing and disappearing again, the light, the movement of the paper permanently rewriting it.

The text is part of the work, like a color in the painting it plays an essential role.
